There was a visionary back in the late 1920s and early 1930s. His name was Lloyd Arthur Meeker, he was aware that working energetically with the body, particularly systems in the body, allowed for a very deep relaxation which in turn could help people with their over all well being.
It also assists with their awakening process spiritually, and their connection with energy in a direct way. However, he didn’t really have a technique.
Around the same time, there were two Chiropractors, one in Toronto and one in Indiana. Both of whom in their practices were noting that just as they were getting ready to put their hands up around the cervical area to make an adjustment to the neck; in the energy field they saw the neck realign. It made them aware that there is an energetic field around the body that they could impact with their own energetic field.
These three men collaborated and came up with some of the initial attunement technique work.
Lloyd Arthur Meeker shared the first Attunement in Wichita, Kansas, in 1929. From that date, he developed the practice and teaching of Attunement. He offered sessions to clients and he taught the principles of Attunement throughout the United States and Canada. He began to write about Attunement under the pen name Uranda.
In 1952, Lloyd Arthur Meeker initiated the Attunement school at Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, Colorado, USA. He was joined by an association of chiropractors interested in energy medicine. They were led by George Shears and known as the GPC chiropractic movement.
